Mariel Cotton, DMD
Dr. Cotton is originally from Rockford, Illinois. She attended the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Science-Business. Dr. Cotton then chose to pursue a career in dentistry in order to combine her lifelong passions for art, science, and improving the lives of others. She attended Southern Illinois University for dental school where she was a member of multiple committees in student government and held leadership positions within her dental fraternity. Dr. Cotton also volunteered on a dental mission trip to Jamaica where she provided treatment for an underserved community.
After graduating from dental school and earning a Doctorate in Dental Medicine, Dr. Cotton attended orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado. She earned a Master of Science in Dentistry for her work investigating the use of CPP-ACP fluoride varnish for the prevention of white spot lesions during orthodontic treatment. Dr. Cotton enjoyed exploring Colorado, but chose to return to the Midwest in order to be closer to family and friends.
Dr. Cotton likes to read, work on art projects, and spend time outdoors with her husband, Zach. Like Dr. Demko, she is an animal lover and even has 3 cats that she rescued. Dr. Cotton is excited to be a part of the team at Demko Orthodontics where she can help provide patients with an experience and smiles they will love!
